Popping pearls, also known as bursting pearls, popping boba or juice balls, are fun little spheres filled with juice that "pop" in your mouth when you bite into them, releasing a burst of flavor! The gel holding the sweet juice inside is a thin, edible skin made from a reaction between Sodium Alginate (Food ingredient derived from a type of seaweed often found in salad dressing, condiments, noodles and bread) and Calcium Lactate. The delicous finished gel-like shelff is Calcium Alginate and it is the perfect enveloppe to keep all the amazing juice inside each popping pearls.
Traditional boba (tapioca boba) are chewy, starch-based balls that add a gummy texture to drinks. These boba are required to be cooked on a stove-top in order to deploy the starch molecules before serving. Popping pearls, on the other hand, are juice-filled orbs with a gel-like exterior that bursts open for a juicy surprise. They're lighter, more refreshing, and come in vibrant fruit flavors, making them ideal for those who want flavor explosions without the chew. Absolutely! Each popping pearls is crafted with real fruit puree. The fruit puree outshines the simple fruit juice often found elsewhere. We prioritize high-quality ingredients to ensure every pop is a fresh, fruity delight without artificial aftertastes.

We don't recommend freezing, as it might cause the spheres to lose their burst. If you must, thaw them slowly in the fridge, but fresh is always best for that satisfying pop!
